Lynette Louise’s book “Miracles are Made a real life guide to Autism” is a gift to every family and professional around the world. It is a book that truly guides the reader into the authors unique journey of finding answers and treatments for Autism. A brilliant women who was able to look at the life challenges that autism brought not only to herself but also her unique children and all the beautiful children who have graced her life professionally and how she found insightful , intuitive answers and hope while helping teach and heal them. Her book is about those tools, ideas, insights that she became knowledgeable with and used while raising her children and the challenges of mainstream schooling she removes her children from school and home schools them making greater gains in their development.
Remarkably she finds the time to educate herself earning a Masters Degree in social and behavior Science, a degree in Main Frame Computer Languages as well as counseling and neurofeedback certifications. Her writing is her professional and personal sharing of how a range of therapies can be helpful but especially how neurofeedback was the one modality that she used to heal herself and her children faster from the complex symptoms of Autism. Lynette has 8 children : two biological daughters , six adopted of which five were disabled four boys were on the autism spectrum and now three are off and living productive independent lives in society. She continues to work with her son Dar who is healing and the reader will enjoy reading about his progress and how he continues to overcome life challenges with her passionate engagement and how the difficulties encountered are lessons for all parents to read about. With the illustrated stories she shares in working with her clients with autism and new families she enlightens the reader with valuable workable knowledge with the success that neurofeedback has played in their healing.
The great thing about this book is how a mothers perseverance, dedication , and remarkable love helped her own children become more comfortable within themselves as they healed . This wonderful mother and professional teacher honors the uniqueness of each child and family member. Her gift of her unique self and neurofeedback to humanity continues today. A gift that keeps giving and to me that is beautiful. Just as beautiful as her book is to read. Lynette shares her life story boldly with fun compassion to clear the confusion for parents looking for answers while making love visible. She shares her humor with many lighthearted fun stories that leaves a smile on the readers face.
As I was reading the book it occurred to me that my son Shawn would greatly benefit from neurofeedback and he has. The book has been a helpful reference for me to use as we continue with the therapy sessions. Lynette has made a tremendous difference in my families life. She has worked professionally as a therapist with my family giving counseling and neurofeedback sessions. Especially with my husband Jake who had a stroke in December of 2009 and also with my son Shawn who has downs syndrome. Both are on greater pathways of healing with the in home use of neurofeedback that Lynette taught us to use and we will forever be grateful for Lynette coming into our lives. She is truly a remarkable women to meet and I loved reading her book. It was so insightful that I have gone back to it several times because it is loaded with helpful information.

This book is a must for all parents, not just families with autism. Lynette Louise is wonderfully honest and it made it easy to listen and learn. Reading this book was kind of like reading a memoir (well, not the neurofeedback chapter, that was more like science class!) that reaches in and allows us to accept the challenges, admit that it’s hard but then to see the lessons. It reminded me to believe in my kids, in myself and in the universe. It also reminded me that I’m not alone. I love this book!
