Autism row: Family fury after son thrown out of theatre
The Autism News | English
A furious dad has hit out at the “Wicked discrimination” shown against his autistic 12-year-old son who was “thrown onto the street” at a hit West End musical.
Glyn Morris, 41, was enjoying a family holiday night out watching Wicked when he was asked to remove his son Gregor from the Apollo Theatre in London.
This was after a sound engineer had complained he was being noisy.
Mr Morris described how no member of the audience had complained about Gregor’s behaviour.
Their humiliation was compounded when they were asked to watch the remainder of the show from behind a glass partition, or sit on stairs at the back.
The angry father, from Milton Brodie near Forrest, said: “We were basically thrown out on the street because of a sound engineer.
“People in the audience were shocked by their actions.”
Mr Morris has now posted a description of their treatment on facebook, titled ‘Wicked Discrimination’ and it has almost had 1,000 hits within one day.
