Man took pictures of women changing

A PERVERT who secretly photographed and filmed women in the pool changing rooms at the Oasis Leisure Centre was told to sign the sex offenders’ register yesterday.
Nicholas Gibbons, 41, used a mobile phone to take images of the unsuspecting women for his own sexual gratification as they undressed.
He also admitted harassing an escort he once employed, sending her text messages, watching her at her home through the windows, and stealing her underwear from her washing line.
Nick Barr, prosecuting at Swindon Magistrates’ Court, said the Oasis offence came to light after police were called to deal with the harassment of the escort.
Gibbons had hired the escort about two and a half years ago, but she ended the arrangement because he wanted a closer relationship.
The harassment which followed came to an end in April when the woman called police after hearing banging on the kitchen door and the sound of breaking glass.
When police arrived, they found Gibbons crouched behind a water butt, near the bathroom window.
They searched his property and found a DVD of extreme pornography.
Police also analysed his mobile phone, on which was stored eight photographs of women in the Oasis changing rooms in various stages of undress, as well as eight videos of women changing in cubicles.
Mr Barr said: “He made a full and frank admission to taking these photographs and images, although they were of some age – I think taken four years previously – and they were all taken for sexual gratification reasons.”
