St. Louis Public School District gets grant for iPads

St. Louis (KSDK) – More and more, iPads and other tablet computers are becoming valuable tools in the classroom.
Educators say the devices provide children with a new way to learn.
The St. Louis school system is using a grant for nearly $11,000 to bring iPads to autistic students.
That means 12 new iPads for students at Gateway Institute of Technology High School.
Vincent Kelly, 17, loves using the iPad in class.
Right now,there are only two such devices for 40 students with autism at Gateway Technical Institute, and the grant will provide 12 iPads. Educators say more students will be able to communicate with teachers and others by using the latest applications.
