TROY, Mich. (WJBK) — Troy Police were back out at the home of 12-year-old Sean Taglione Monday wrapping up their investigation into the sixth grader’s sudden death.
Taglione’s parents reported him missing around 6:00 p.m. Saturday. Police confirm the missing child was autistic and that he had wandered away from the home
Police say he ran out into the street on Coolidge near Golfview Drive and was hit by a southbound car.
“I can’t imagine losing one of my kids. It’s just the most horrible thing. I just feel terrible for them,” said neighbor Kristi Pepper.
She told us she often saw Taglione playing outside and his school bus every day.
Grief counselors and a crisis team helped break the news to students and staff members at Boulan Park Middle School.
The principal told the local papers Taglione was a student in the school’s autism program. She described him as high energy, well liked and a free spirit. She went on to say he loved to feel the wind on his face and loved to run.
Taglione had difficulty speaking, but participated in classes and socialized with friends.
