My God! What in hell is wrong with these children? What are they learning at home and at school that is causing such EVIL acts? Something needs to be done before someone is killed! And yes, Heidi, I would as well!

This is why we're leaving Iowa, before it is too late. The police here are thugs when it comes to the disabled, too. Absolute thugs.

Our ASD son is 5 now and doesn't react to the pain of the injury either. I don't know if it's due to hyposensitivity or a processing issue. The only time we get a reaction is if the event scares him or if the pain is extremely intense like this last bout of stomach cramps that he had.

I'm just starting the whole toilet training thing with Caleb, my son who is 4. I'm trying not to have my expectations too high and make sure I take every step forward as worth celebrating. today it was just getting him on the toilet in time to pee, I used a couple of jelly babies as his prompt and reward. Visual aids eg- simple pecs type cards of toileting steps are very helpful as well as he is a very visual learner. lots of praise makes him smile. I have a book I purchased called the dior method, I will read it up this weekend as reveiws said it was great with toilet training for children with special needs also. Yesterday my celebration was just getting him to wear undies! lol. lucky for us it's summer so he was content running about in them most the day. I'm going to try to track his number 2's over the next week also to see if there are any patterns, will mean pull ups again for a week but at least we are making a start, not too long ago he didn't want to wear them either, so it's all progress as far as I'm concerned. Will keep you posted on our progress and tips that have helped us. (i'm also in the progress of making a learning story about pooping - my other children think it's hilarious but hey it just may help! lol)
