WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Leonora Robinson and her 7-year-old son Matthew shared their heartbreaking story with NewsChannel 5 about a month ago.

Robinson told us her husband had left her and their son after becoming fed up with the boy’s severe autism.

With nowhere to turn and $5000 behind in rent, she turned to NewsChannel 5 for help, and got it.

Now, Leonora Robinson and her son Matthew are saying thanks to those who came forward to help.

“It’s been unbelievable,” said Robinson.

During our initial interview with Robinson, she told us how in one day she became a single mother. She says her husband was the breadwinner for the family, but left her and their son with no money and eventually no home.

Because her son requires 24-hour care, she was unable to work and pay the rent. Eventually she faced eviction.

“Can’t sleep because I never know when the note is going to be on the door,” she said.

Little did she know, brighter days were ahead thanks to a local attorney who chooses to remain anonymous.
