2011 is coming to an end and I wish to express my gratitude for our friendship.

We are most likely connected because of Autism, Zac Browser, the Autism News or via People CD.

For the past 18 months my team and I have concentrated our efforts on the development of important software and web services focused on the well being of people with autism.

Our technology is centered on how to empower people with special needs and that includes children, teenagers and adults. We have also designed software to connect everyone involved in the well-being of those with autism. Our company is neutral and can fit in with any kind of therapy or research initiative.

We wish to make 2012 the most significant year for people with Autism from all over the world and we can’t do it alone.

Gabriel Schindler loves Star Wars and playing video games just like any other 8-year-old, but Gabe has to work a little harder to interact with other children during these activities. Gabe was diagnosed with a high functioning form of Autism at age 2, but his mother says, that’s never held him back.

“It’s not a bad thing that he’s Autistic. Maybe the rest of us should be a little Autistic,” said Jennifer Dotson, Gabe’s mother, who organized Sunday’s Autistic Awareness Fair.

Autism is a general term used to describe a group of developmental brain disorders that affect a child ability to communicate or interact socially with others. The severity of these symptoms can vary from child to child, making the disorder difficult to diagnose and even treat.

“His social skills are a lot higher than what is typically known as an Autistic child, although it differs with every child,” Dotson said.

Nearly one in 90 children is diagnosed with Autism, or about 1.5 million Americans, but Dotson says it is one disorder that isn’t really understood by many in our community, and that lack of knowledge can cause frustration for those who have children with Autism.

Dotson says she wants to make a difference in the lives of Autistic children and do much more than just wear a ribbon. That’s why she started an Autism Awareness Fair right here in Lost Creek.
